PRE-STAGING/WASHUP COORDINATOR
Location: Onsite - Napa, California
Hourly Rate: $18 - $25 per hour (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Rotating Shifts, Weekends occasionally

Position Summary:
The Pre-Staging/Washup Coordinator manages the preparation and cleaning of flexographic printing presses in our label printing facility. This role is essential in ensuring that all press components are properly cleaned between print runs to prevent color contamination and maintain the highest quality standards. The Pre-Staging/Washup Coordinator will be responsible for minimizing downtime by efficiently coordinating washups and preparing presses for the next job.
The role requires a highly organized individual with a strong commitment to maintaining equipment cleanliness and performance. This role contributes to the smooth operation of our production line and ensures that we deliver premium quality labels to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Setup job presses with flexo and hot stamp tooling.
- After production, clean flexographic printing press components, including ink trays, ink chambers, anilox rollers, and plates, to prepare for the next production run.
- Responsible for archiving hot stamps and die cut tooling.
- Coordinate with press operators to minimize downtime between jobs by efficiently managing the washup process.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for the proper disposal of ink residues and cleaning chemicals.
- Observe company work rules and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of staging and washup activities.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain high-quality print standards by ensuring equipment is thoroughly cleaned and ready for each job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A degree in graphic communication, printing technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in pre-press or pre-production roles within the printing industry is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness and quality to ensure smooth press operations.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, especially during tight production schedules.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic mechanical skills for performing routine maintenance on press components.
- Mathematical proficiency: Ability to work with fractions, ratios, and proportions, to ensure accuracy in measurements and calculations.
- Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, minimizing downtime between jobs.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with press operators and other production team members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address issues during the washup and maintenance process.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift/Carry – 30% of Shift
- Standing – 30% of Shift
- Walk –15% of Shift
- Reach Outward – 10% of Shift
- Squat/Kneel – 5% of Shift
- Lift Up To 40lbs – 10% of Shift
