Pre-Press Production Specialist 

Location: Onsite - Napa, California 

Hourly Rate: $25 - $35 per hour (Based on Experience) 
Employment Type: Full-Time, 9 AM - 5 PM Monday-Friday

Join Our Team as a Pre-Press Production Specialist! 

Do you have a strong graphic design background with an eye for detail? Do you thrive in a fast-paced production environment? We’re looking for a Pre-Press Production Specialist to support the operation of our high-quality label printing press. In this hands-on job, you’ll transform customer artwork into complex, multi-color print files that are ready for production. 

Responsibilities: 

• Review and prepare customer artwork files for different printing processes, including flexographic and digital printing, ensuring they meet technical specifications and printing standards. 

• Operate PC computers, running Esko programs and Adobe Creative Suite applications. 

• Preflight files to check for errors, including resolution, color accuracy, and bleed requirements. 

• Collaborate with clients, designers, the Customer Service team, and the Production team to design files and resolve any issues. 

• Support other departments with in-house graphics as required. 

• Maintain an organized and safe work environment. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

What You’ll Bring: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 

• Advanced graphic design skills including creating/editing graphics, enhancing/manipulating images, color management, typography, and knowledge of layouts are required. 

• A degree in graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field is a plus. 

• Experience in pre-press or pre-production roles within the printing industry is a plus. 

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications: 

• Graphic Design - Advanced graphic design skills including graphics creation, color management, typography, and knowledge of layouts. 

• Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of pre-production processes, print file preparation, and printing standards. 

• Mathematical Proficiency – Ability to work with fractions, ratios, and proportions for accurate measurements. 

• Attention to Detail – Strong quality control focus to ensure top-tier printed materials. 

• Time Management – Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under production deadlines. 

• Teamwork – Work collaboratively with Customer Service and Production staff. 

• Organizational Skills – Maintain a clean, efficient workspace. 

• Communication - Clearly communicate technical details to clients, designers, and production staff. 

Physical Requirements: 

This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods (up to 80% of the shift) and walk, lift, or carry as needed throughout production. Additionally, candidates must have the ability to distinguish and differentiate between colors to ensure accurate printing of labels.
