GALLUS RCS PRESS OPERATOR
Location: Onsite - Napa, California
Hourly Rate: $30-40 per hour (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-time 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Monday-Friday and Including occasional weekends

General Position Summary:
As a Gallus RCS Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Gallus RCS printing press, ensuring the production of high-quality labels and printed materials. Gallus is a well-regarded manufacturer of narrow-web printing presses, and the RCS model is particularly popular for its flexibility, efficiency, and ability to produce a wide range of printed products, including labels, flexible packaging, and more. Your expertise in setup, operation, and troubleshooting will be essential in delivering exceptional results while adhering to production schedules. As a Gallus RCS Press Operator, you will collaborate closely with other departments, including prepress and finishing, to ensure a seamless workflow. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor the Gallus RCS press to produce high-quality printed labels and materials.
- Prepare the press for jobs by configuring settings, loading substrates, and aligning printing plates according to job specifications.
- Continuously monitor print quality during production runs, checking for color accuracy, registration, and overall print integrity.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the Gallus RCS press, including cleaning and lubricating equipment.
- Collaborate with prepress, finishing, quality teams, and production teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Utilize the ERP system used in Eurostampa to track down the production/downtime of the machine.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including materials used, print settings, and quality checks performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment to maintain a safe workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in printing technology, production, or quality control is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Mathematical proficiency: Ability to work with fractions, ratios, and proportions, to ensure accuracy in measurements and calculations.
- Attention to Detail: Keen focus on quality control to ensure all printed materials meet specifications and standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Proficient in machine setup and basic maintenance, with a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members and other departments.
